Most people
just see the happy end product, but it is hard all-year round work, cold water
misery in the winter and has become a 7 day a week job.
On the plus side there is the reward of seeing my beer on the handpull next
to the likes of Timothy Taylor's 'Landlord'. Or a shout across the street
"Cracking pint of yours last night at the Queens".

After being
made redundant and being given (very!) early retirement, I had the opportunity
to do nothing or a job I enjoyed.
I successfully did nothing for a few months, but boredom crept in.
I had homebrewed since my twenties and for years had thought about a microbrewery.
In 2002 I started looking for premises and finally got lucky with a local
farm that was converting a barn for light industrial use.
Did I make the right move?
Just about.
